The master program in Physical and Astrophysical Sciences is the natural prosecution of the bachelor program in Physics and Astrophysics. Its main objective is to prepare graduate students with a broad spectrum of knowledge in the different fields of modern physics: Astrophysics, Physics of Matter, Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics, Theoretical Physics.
The program is closely connected to the research carried out at the Physics and Astrophysics Department of the University of Florence, and also in nearby national research institutions (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy).
The two-year program is based on 4 introductory courses (24 ECTS), a core of basic courses differentiated per curriculum (48 ECTS), integrative courses (30 ECTS), a stage in a research laboratory or in a company (6 ECTS) and the work for the master thesis (36 ECTS). More information in the Study plan page.
The regulation of the program for the academic year 2018/2019 (in italian) is available here .
